Privacy Policy

At SkyMotion.tools (operated by Traian Anghel), your privacy is our foundational principle. We believe that physics calculation tools, educational utilities, and scientific reference materials should work quickly, transparently, and without tracking user identities across the web. This Privacy Policy details our minimal data collection practices, our use of client-side computing, and your privacy rights.

1. Client-Side Computational Architecture

Unlike conventional web applications that process user queries on remote servers, all primary calculators on SkyMotion.tools (such as sunrise/sunset ephemerides, lunar illumination percentages, projectile trajectories, free fall calculations, and geometric ratios) execute strictly inside your local web browser using client-side JavaScript.

When you enter custom parameters (for example, custom geographic coordinates, speeds, or building drop heights), these numbers are processed locally by your device’s browser engine. We do not transmit, log, or store your personalized calculation inputs on our servers.

2. Local Storage, Cookies, and Consent

The current site uses its own preference panel only for first-party choices. Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, advertising pixels, Google AdSense and Google's certified CMP are not active unless explicitly configured and deployed:

  • Necessary Functional Storage (Always Active): Includes skymotion-theme (retains your light/dark/system theme preference) and cookie-consent (records your choice of accepted or declined cookie categories).
  • Analytics (Optional): No analytics provider is currently configured. A saved permission does not itself load a tag or send data. Any future analytics tag must remain blocked until this permission is granted.
  • Marketing (Optional): No advertising or campaign-measurement tag is currently configured. Amazon affiliate links are ordinary outbound links; after you choose to visit Amazon, that independent site applies its own privacy policy and may use storage there.

3. Server Logs and Web Hosting

When you access any web page on SkyMotion.tools, our edge hosting infrastructure automatically logs standard technical requests (such as your IP address, browser user-agent, requested URL, HTTP status code, and timestamp). These logs are maintained exclusively for technical performance monitoring, DDoS mitigation, and ensuring network security. They are retained for standard diagnostic intervals and are never combined with personal identities.

We also collect anonymous Core Web Vitals (page path, metric name, value, rating, navigation type, and timestamp) to find performance regressions. These records contain no account, email address, IP address, user-agent, or persistent identifier and are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

To improve the homepage sunrise example, SkyMotion may use approximate city, coordinates, country, and time zone derived by our hosting provider (Vercel) from the IP address already present in the web request. Our location endpoint does not return the IP address and does not contact an additional geolocation provider. The approximate result is cached in your browser for up to 24 hours under skymotion-ip-location. Precise browser geolocation is used only when you have already granted that permission.

4. Affiliate Links and Third-Party Services

SkyMotion.tools participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. When you click an outbound book recommendation or hardware reference link tagged with our associate ID (skymotion20-20), you are redirected to Amazon’s website. Amazon may deploy their own cookies to track referral commissions in accordance with Amazon’s Privacy Notice. No personal identifiable information is shared by us with Amazon during this redirection.

5. GDPR, CCPA, and User Rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), users retain rights regarding their data. SkyMotion.tools does not maintain public user accounts and does not sell, trade, or use contact details for marketing.

If you submit an inquiry via our Contact Page, your name, email address, subject, message, submission timestamp, and scheduled deletion date are stored securely solely to reply. Contact submissions are stored only in the dedicated skymotion_contact_messages table in our shared Supabase project, isolated from other sites by the skymotion_ prefix. The form does not send an email notification. Messages are reviewed in the private Sky Motion Admin page, are scheduled for deletion after 180 days, and are never shared or used for unsolicited marketing. Replies are sent manually through Zoho Mail. You may request access, correction, or earlier deletion using the same contact page or by writing directly to contact@skymotion.tools.
